-Thinking to himself 'Damn The Lone Wanderer! I'm tired of these missions, we always get split up and his rendezvous points never work out, especially when the weather goes to hell like this. Of course he's the type to attract snow to even Texas...' -The 6 foot man in a black coat and in jeans as pants began to fall to the cold, despite his adaptation to it up North. He was stumbling his way through the cold, ill equipped for it's harshness. Then he came to notice a change, an image emerging in the darkness and through the snow. He made his way to the door, instinct had him knocking on the door, hope returning.

-*Knock! Knock! Knock!* - Admittedly the simple noise though poor *message reduced* off his game. The ascended plane of consciousness he'd been studying had been completely unperturbed for the last few hours. The man decided that whoever that door belong to, they would go to meet the tapping. Though a plaguing thought that began to form at the back of his head told him something important was afoot. -*Knock! Knock! Knock!* -Again the noise came, and again he was disturbed. How rude the host must be, keeping the visitor at the door like this! His only comfort was that since he hadn't a house of his own, the door was most definitely not his. Martial made one last attempt to return to his trance. -*Knock! Knock! Knock!* -A third time it echoed and a third time was the Artist disturbed! 'This is just getting re-goshdarn-diculous!', he thought to himself, and made the effort to awaken. The thoughts of last evening's events flowed back into his mind. -"Oh Mogdamn it!" he muttered. - He rushed to the door, hopeful as to the condition of his final companion. He opened the door to find a bright eye'd young man, of approximately his own height, clean shaven, in a large black overcoat. -"Well come in," he offered, not caring whether or not he had the right to.

-"Knock! Knock! Knock!" -There was a banging at the door, startling Halt from his sleep. After he had gotten over the drowse of awakening, he heard again the banging sound. -"Knock! Knock! Knock!" -For the last 2 weeks there had been nothing but salesman at his door strangely at night around this time, every time he would get up to answer the door he would find some man in a suit holding a briefcase asking if he was the decision maker of the household. This being the case, Halt just assumed that it was another businessman. "Ah, let him freeze for all I care." Halt growled as he got comfortable in his bed again, and drifted back into sleep.

-The man stumbled in, shivering cold. He appeared like he could lose consciousness at any moment at the door. -"Sorry to intrude upon you" he was saying "but I've lost my way due to a dunce of a commander. If it's no trouble, may I spend the remainder of the night here? Oh, and I go by Noven, kind sir." -Noven was already sizing the man up. He had come in with little thought, these men could be enemies for all he knew. He discreetly pocketed his hand, able to quickly reach for his knife if needed, his only means of combat.

-"Noven, you say? You wouldn't by any chance be the missing member of our party would you?" asked the bare-fisted brawler, handing him the flier. He noted the other man's tension so he moved slowly so as not to arouse unneeded hostility. -"As to your staying the night, thats not for me to decide. I'm visiting here as well you see, the owner is in his chambers. I'm *message reduced*. Perhaps you've heard of me."

-"Ah, I heard mention of you from Lone Wanderer, I can't believe I actually stumbled across you like this. Does he happen to be here now, or does he need some valiant rescue out of the story books?" He ended with a sarcastic tone, now relaxing his guard. -He began to size up the room, already hoping he'd be allowed the night there. Besides being just warm shelter, it looked to be of nice design and comfort.

-Woken from his sleep by the commotion in the den, Halt got out of bed and went to discover what was going on. When he arrived in the den, he discovered the Free Martial Artist talking to some unknown visitor. Halt just stopped and stared at the possible new threat, quickly sizing him up to see if he could handle himself. *message reduced* quickly noticed the hostility in Halt's stance and quickly introduced the mysterious man, calling him Noven. "This is our last party member" he said. Halt cautiously walked over and offered his hand to Noven, still not sure what he thought about him.

-Noven, at ease from recognizing this man by name, felt no alarm by another entering. Based on who he was speaking to, he assumed that this was Halt. Looking him over, it seemed like he may be mildly annoyed, but most likely tired based on the hour. "Hello sir, I hope I'm not causing you much trouble at this hour. Sorry to intrude upon you so late. Oh, and, is Lone Wanderer sleeping in the back? I'd love to wake him up, as he's been bad luck to me. A curse to me, such as, say, Vyse haunting me..." Noven chuckled mildly at the end of his statement, fully at ease in this house.

-Halt was not amused by Noven's little ploy at humor. He could already tell that this guy was going to get on his nerves. Halt introduced himself and sat down in the corner of the room, opting to have the best strategical position. He still did not fully trust this new arrival. -"Well now that we got that out of the way," said *message reduced* "why don't you tell us more about yourself Noven?"

-"I'm a long time friend of Lone Wanderer, and I've recently begun helping him when he's been in need. I'm proficient in technical things, and can tinker with machines quite well, as in installing upgrades or fixes should the equipment fail." Noven said as he became more serious in his manner. "I'm a fan of keeping things simple as well, no need to make a matter with a quick fix be prolonged and complex." -Noven sat down on the floor, legs finnaly to tired to support him much longer. He had the strange sense he was not welcome, and he made sure to keep himself ready should these men try anything, should it all be a trap for Lone Wanderer and himself.

-"Not prolonged or complex, eh? Well your in for a treat. This may in fact be the most simple and straight forward avocation I've ever embarked upon. Sorry you won't have time to rest. As soon as our dear pal "Stiltzken" can be revived, we'll depart. I don't want to 'complicate things by staying too long. I'm sure you agree."

-As he laid there, awoken by some commotion downstaris, hr thought to himself, 'How did they manage to get the better of us? Who where those bandits?' -As he dozed back off he heard more clearly the voices downstairs, and heard one that was all too familiar. -"Noven!" he exclaimed silently to himself, he decided against going down to greet him, and instead wait until morning, when he would be fully awake. -He then drifted back to sleep, and soon was snoring again.

-"Heh, it's not much trouble. I know things can get complex, just no need to turn all the mundane task to something in need of multiple steps. So, may I spend the night here before we depart?" Noven shivered from the cold, and he had hopes that Fallout was doing alright with these strange men.

-"Actually, I believe we've dawdled long enough. I see no reason to prolong our endeavor any long than we already have." -The man in tan was now off of his feet and had moved over near one of the bookshelves that adorned the walls. -"I say, Beardsley my good fellow, do you have a decent book you would consider loaning me?"

-Halt, not taking his eyes off Noven, said that *message reduced* could borrow any book he wanted, so long as it wasn't his most recent journal.
