Achintya continued to silently pretend to read his book, the smile long gone from his face.

-"You...you're..." She glared fiercely at them, then pulled a vicious looking dagger from her shirt before hissing and storming out of the tavern. "Fuck this place! I'm moving! Everyone I try and employ is a shitty thief and a worse comedian."
-Hefting the books, the group left the tavern and, after a moment's hesitation, decided head outside the city, so that they could speak with Netreya, and attempt to call to Solace. As they rejoined the griffin, however, their senses were assaulted. Even the more mundane of them, least connected with the arcane, felt magic sear through every vein, blacken every bone. Not too far away, something in a violent storm of energy and emotion was approaching, something that seethed with anger and made the entire world shake in response. Breathless, and a little afraid, the group stood, watching, as this being of pure magic headed straight for them. In their own ears, their heartbeats began to fade, replaced, or perhaps merged with, the sound of thundering hooves.
This is the end of The White Dragon. What follows hereafter is Alliance.

-The thundering grew louder and louder, and the nimbus of magic enveloped them. A white and blue shape stopped dead before them, and a blue-garbed figure slid from it. -Solace was an image of fury. Her eyes were blue flame, and her face was twisted in a snarl that made somehow made her even more lovely. Her hair blew about her in the gale of magic that was her own making. The blue light of magic wreathed through her hair, the white light through her clothes. Beside her, Kyllaros looked just as agitated. The green smoke of his mane and tail writhed and danced like flame, and he tore up the ground with his sharp hooves. -As they watched, Achintya recalled an image he had seen in his pact. It was so clear in his mind that it felt as if it was being pulled up on purpose. A woman, alive with magic, stood before a stern queen and pleaded for help.
-Solace's blazing eyes snapped onto the faerie. "You. With me. Now."

Achintya raised an eyebrow at Solace, his face otherwise expressionless. There was a long pause. Achintya snorted with laughter. He chuckled as he beat his wings once, giggled as he rose up into the air and cackled when he landed on the now materialised Icelus. Yet for all the raucous laughter he didn't have the slightest hint of a smile on his face. Patting Icelus with one gloved hand and motioning to Solace to lead on, he turned back to the group with a final harsh chuckle. Clues for every puzzle, led in every direction, an escort from every success... "Looks like we're doomed" Achintya said to the group, his mouth shaped to a smile of hopeless defeat, his voice thick with hopeful sarcasm.

-Solace ignored the faerie completely, instead following his gaze to the others. "Humans. From other worlds." She seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, before nodding decisively. "Griffin! Carry them! We ride with the wind." Her voice was a sharp command that Netreya felt compelled to obey. He landed and lowered himself so the others could mount.

-Taking a glance to Netreya with a bit of shock, Luke couldn't deny he felt it too, heavy urgency in that tone. Climbing onto his friend's back, along with Talfen, Luke turned to Solace with a bit of concern coloring his face. "Solace? What's going on?" He said simply, as the both of them prepared to leave. "Did something happen?" He asked with a bit more grave a tone, not wishing to set her off.

-Solace urged Kyllaros on, and the griffin and Nightmare kept pace, speeding away to the North. A mesh of blue magic surrounded them, binding them so that when Solace spoke, they could all hear her as easily as if they stood beside each other in a quiet room. "My fool of a mother happened, and the rest of my blinkered people." She sighed, and shook her head. "Their irritating behaviour is not unexpected, even if it does befit a mule better than 'magic's beloved daughters'." Kyllaros snorted and his rider laughed. "Oh, I know! It's such a pretentious nickname." The magic still crackled and writhed around them, proving Solace's anger, even if it was no longer obvious on her face.

Achintya began to melt slightly through Icelus's misty being as he pulled out his book and reopened it, almost instantly dead to the world speeding past around him.

-Luke gave a confused look to the woman, though he was sure she didn't see, not directly at least. "If that means what I'm afraid it means, then perhaps you found us at an excellent time." He almost grinned, with this Tiara in their possession, perhaps it would help in their attempt to ally with the Indral, stubborn though they may be, they are surely not blind. Hopefully, at least. "We may have something that would be of great interest to your people, a tiara of some kind we were told they crafted. Do you know anything of it?"

-Solace stared at him. "A tiara? Does it by any chance look like a firebird, with wings spread?"

-Luke nodded swiftly after, though to no obvious effect. "Yes, we found it as we tried to gain access to the Librarium, but upon learning of it's importance, we thought perhaps the Indral could help us instead...your thoughts?"

A quiet mumble of "thought it was a duck..." came from the left side of the blue bubble.

-She stared at him, and then began to laugh. The sound was clear and pure, and it seemed to mark the subsiding of her rage. The magic cloud disapated, and she continued to laugh for a good five minutes. When she stopped, all she would say was "I'll tell you when we make camp tonight." Kyllaros nickered softly and Solace patted him. "I know. I've let my anger push you too hard. Sorry, my heart."
-They rode until nightfall, following the silver river northwards. When they stopped and made camp, Netreya glimpsed the decaying towers of the old Imperial capital, far away to the east. Solace smiled at them, eyes bright with mirth. "If you want to get settled and get the tiara out to show me, I just need a quick word with Misty over here." Icelus gave her an annoyed look, but trotted alongside her a little way away, where they proceeded to have a serious conversation that left the Nightmare annoyed and Solace in fits of giggles again.

-Luke gave a nod to Solace as he noticed her take the mystic horse off with her to have a conversation about...something, he assumed hilarious at the way Solace was acting. With a sigh of relief, he retrieved the tiara from his coat and glanced it over for a few moments, looking to Achintya. "Quite a duck indeed...turns out it may save our asses this time, no?" He grinned a bit, Netreya by now was looking over the surrounding area, the tower in the distance for one with a bit of curiosity, relaying the surrounding area to Luke to which he gave a swift internal nod.

-"Seems I made the good tactical choice for us, after all. Though I do still wish a plague upon you, both of you." Despite himself, the barest of smirks was held on the corners of his lips. "Well, then, I still am curious as to what real importance this tiara holds, for them, and perhaps for us. Perhaps you, Achintya," Talfen turned lazily, "can offer some kind of guess? Will the, duck, was it? Will it lay for us a golden egg of which will be our reward, or will it be more in line with an ugly outcast, born under a curse?"
