-The captain glanced around, eyes wide. His men...they were gone! These forests were haunted! Shaking with fear, he ran back to his half-loaded ship and locked himself in his cabin. -Smoke began to issue from the gaps in between the planks of wood that made up the cargo hold of the airship.

Luke dragged the guy back to camp, opening up Matt's gear and swiping a rope from it, tieing the poor guy up, locking his hands and feet together before he rushed over and shook Talfen awake "Hey! I need some help here... Chimer wants me to get information outta this guy and I don't know what to do." Luke spoke uncomfortably.

-Talfen roused easily. "Huh? Ugh... what now? Bandits or something, you said?" Talfen was drowsy, but he was already becoming more clear of mind.

-The magical wood in the cargo hold would not allow itself to be pillaged by such lowly villains. It caught flame, taking the airship with it. -Soon, the whole vessel was ablaze with a bright hot, unnatural fire.

Luke nodded, setting the restrained guy up in front of him. "Some kind of bandits, Matt caught this guy and he wants us to get information out of him...so any ideas?" Luke laughed nervously, attempting to pass the job along to him

-A light sigh escaped him, yet followed by a chuckle. "Heh." Quiet now, "I suppose you don't quite partake in torture, then? No mater..." he trailed off. Talfen drew a rapier as he stood up. To the bandit he said "I take no delight in this, but it is no bother to me if you shan't comply. We want information on your job here... if you won't tell us I'll drive this through your shoulder... slowly... and if you still won't comply, I shall make the pain progressively worse for you. Talk now, and I shall release you, and you'll leave immediately. No harm. So, let's have it, what shall it be?" Talfen said this calmly, with a serious face. He spoke more than he normally would, but hoped to scare the man before any action. Also, Talfen lacked any emotion at all as he said it, and he assumed it would be rather intimidating to most. Despite that, inside he really wouldn't care much to hurt this man. He'd rather be able to release him and let him run off and live, no harm. He would do what was needed though.

-"Where's Cap'n! Where's he?" The panicked pirate regarded the rapier with fear. -"You killed 'im, din'cha?" The mercenary's dead tone terrified the man even more than the sword. -"Please dun kill me mister! It was the Cap'n's idea! We was bought by some mages, see, to bring some of this here burnt wood back. I dun unnerstand it meself, but there it be. Please dun kill me sir, please!"

-As the last man fell and the carnage had subsided, the last of their dying screams faded into a lull. But all was not silent. Nearby, in a pile of brush, there could be heard a nigh inaudible wimper.

-"No need to kill you. Off with you then, if... you don't disagree, Luke?" Talfen sheathed his rapier while saying that, relaxing a bit himself. He knew the answer that he would receive, and prepared to release the man. "Of course, however... this man could be lying to us." Talfen turned on him again, hoping to scare the man. He threw a scowl onto his face, and poked the rapier into his shoulder, not penetrating, but poking. It happened quickly enough that the man would not have been able to follow his movement, swift as the wind. Talfen doubted it, but hoped to scare out the truth if he had been lying. Once again, he kept his tone empty of feeling, but now accompanied by the menacing scowl.

-Immediately the whimpering cut out. The silence in the clearing was deafening. Despite the recent bloodshed, this was by far the most tense moment of the day. The reason was inexplicable, but the result was the same. The atmosphere screamed one phrase. -Make your move.

Luke sighed softly, one filled with relief, as he turned to Talfen with a smile. "You had me worried there... thank you for that." Luke spoke softly, yet was sure Talfen knew what he meant, turning to watch the man run as he asked "Should we go off to look for Matt?"

-Suddenly a huge spout of water shot from the lake. Undine emerged, her long hair wild and crusted with ice. -The fleeing pirate stumbled, cried out and fell, blood streaming out of his eyes and ears. -"Murderers! Thieves! SCUM!" The lake boiled and frothed as the elemental screamed out her anger. The trees around the lake began to burn with a cold blue flame.
