-Luke nodded to Netreya for a moment, a trusting smile on his face, before turning his gaze curiously around the room, so full of questions he could nearly pop! Netreya took a moment, before answering Roo. "I suppose... I see the urgency in such a thing then, though do not get carried away little one, I am still wary of you in regards of my personal safety..."[/i] Netreya spoke softly, as if he was speaking to one of his own children, before readying himself for whatever this scan may be. Luke smiled softly, turning back to Roo and whispering. "That just means be careful, I'm fragile." Luke let out a chuckle, only to receive a glare from Netreya that earned him silence as he wished.

Roo squeaked with delight as an imposing blue light flushed a small area around him from his facial interface. "Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Okay, Luke, step back a bit." When Roo and Luke gave space, the giant arm hovered the gun over Netreya pointing it directly at the griffin's center of mass. The gun's coil-pods unraveled their cables and made a circle with a diameter the length of Netreya. The scan-gun hummed, spinning the cables. Once they reached a top speed, the gun made a plop noise like a huge stone falling into water. A ring of thick black liquid fell around Netreya, encircling him. The ring disappeared, it was already over. Roo's fervor peaked as his mind was flooded with all the information on Netreya's anatomy. "That's it. All over. Better than cutting you open to peak inside, don't you agree? Now, you had questions Luke?"

-Netreya seemed a bit amazed that it took so little, straightening himself where he stood. Luke laughed a bit, turning to Netreya. "There there, no nearly as bad as you feared no doubt." Luke smiled happily before turning to Roo. "Ah...yes, I believe my questions included tell me a bit about the Hub, this Breed, the Martyians, our mission, their objective....and hell throw in your life story while we are at it." Luke laughed. "Forgive me, I am extremely curious about this place... it is how I am."

"Tell you about them? Like everything? Very well, grab a seat." Roo leaned back onto his tail like a chair, Luke was in for a long session. "First, the Hub. The Hub is this planet you are in now. The only materials that occur naturally here is the grey stone that makes up about 99.671% of the planet and the gel-like substance that is spread throughout the planet in veins and runes. The Hub has a mean radius of about 6,383.2 kilometres with a flat surface area of about 512020000 square kilometres. Pardon the approximations, but you'll otherwise thank me for them. The Hub has no atmosphere and orbits nothing. It very much has its own dimension completely devoid of any other body. The runes suggested that a race had existed here before, but we know nothing about them, could have been the Martyrians and that's why they came here. But the one responsible for bringing us, the machine, here is a man you knew as the merchant. The merchant used the Hub as an enormous warehouse to store his goods and used The Smog to transport himself to different worlds in different dimensions to collect and sell goods. He brought the left over technology of an abandoned planet and used The Smog to reprogram and adjust it to his needs. Soon, these machines became very advanced and only needed The Smog to manipulate their surroundings. The machines kept the place tidy and guarded the merchant where he traveled, until he died. Now, we have no idea what killed the merchant or even what kind of person he was. He was with you wasn't he? What kind of person was he? How did he die?"

-Luke watched wide eyed as Roo explained, nodding along most of it before answering. "I am amazed there is breathable air here then... surely creating so much is a bit difficult? Ah the merchant... I remember him." Luke bit his lip for a moment before sighing. "He seemed more the type to do many things to further his own interest and buisness...but he did not strike me as a bad person." Luke remarked, smiling softly "As for how he died..." Luke remained silent for a moment. "Lets just say, death by demonic god."

Roo sat back not so much shocked but rather fascinated. "Demonic gods. Perhaps I can study one. Might have to ask The General about getting one though, but The General is so mean!" Roo's interface reddened slightly for a moment, then turned back to blue. "As for how oxygen is supplied, it really wasn't that hard. The Breed hooked up some pipes around the place and connected it to the plant farms where the vegetation produced the oxygen. Anyway, back to the Hub. When the merchant died the machines had no leader. So they set about making artificial personalities to lead them. That's how me, Chops, Jez and The General came about. We did our own things, my personality code is The Scientist, Chops is The Explorer, Jez is The Entrepreneur and The General is...The General. I'll include their respective explanations under 'life story'. We were then in charge of the Hub for over three years and then the Martyrians came, took back The Smog, the machines got disabled and that brings us to now. Would you like me to go over anything in specific? A break maybe?"

-Luke chuckled a bit, watching as Roo continued explaining. "Ah I see... the general I have heard of and yet not met him, am I to assume he is hiding for now?" Luke joked. "Anything specific... it sounds rather plausible for me, so I think I understand... as for the Martyians, I still need to see what they are or rather how they work....but such things will be taken care of on our mission I suppose." Luke shrugged before turning to the ground for a moment. "Other then explaining more on the smog and sludge stuff that seems to be your lifeblood... not much, if there is more information you think I should know, or perhaps would like to know, please feel free to inform me."

"Alrighty! The Smog used to exist in the core of the Hub, where all those warehouses are. It can transport matter and energy between two points that it dwells in, even if those points are across separate dimensions. As well as transport energy, The Smog can convert it too. So, we had The Smog siphon the radiation of stars and convert it to energy which powered the machines and most of the Hub. This was our main source of power, so you can probably tell how everything stopped working when the Martyrians took The Smog away. You may recall the merchant wearing a big greatcoat, that acted as a beacon for The Smog which allowed him to control it and transport himself and his goods to different universes. The Smog is corrosive to organic matter and is very harmful if you get into direct contact with it. Now, the merchant was always connected to The Smog so to avoid harmful effects he wore an insulating suit that allowed himself to be transported with no deadly issues. This suit was lined with a gel that wards off the repercussions The Smog had on organic matter. This gel can also be arranged into runes that change The Smog's behaviour such one that can make The Smog transport thoughts to the controller, or a rune that can act as a secondary beacon. The only material The Smog cannot transport is the rock that makes up the Hub. The Sludge is the result I got when I combined The Smog with the gel I mentioned. It was made because we, me, Chops, Jez, The General, weren't allowed to use The Smog in case our personalities were corrupt and would use it detrimentally. It has the same transporting powers as The Smog, except it cannot separate materials that are chemically bonded and it does no harm to organics. The Sludge is that stuff in the teleporters by the way. And lastly, of course, The Sludge being a liquid isn't as agile as The Smog's gaseous nature, making it harder to get into certain places like in the air or space. That covers The Smog and The Sludge, so it's The Breed next. Anything specific about them or just another big shot at it?"

-Luke pondered for a moment before nodding. "Actually yes... if they have stolen the smog, then will we be needing those runes you mentioned to fight them off?" Luke looked at him curiously. "I would hate to simply have all my attacks consumed in a big black cloud of nothing... other then that, you may continue." Luke nodded.

"Hm, if the Martyrians are indeed the civilisation that existed here before the merchant and are responsible for the runes, then it is more likely they'll use the runes against us. They will most likely be more adept at controlling The Smog than we are too. In fact, they did use the runes against us. They attempted to convert the machines to their cause with a mind rune that allows The Smog to transport thoughts. Some Martyrians went almost naked and had runes painted on their bodies which increased their physical strength, most likely by transporting and converting energy to aid their muscles. A few Martyrians wore big coats and insulating suits very similar to what the merchant wore, these Martyrians had control over The Smog and are likely the most dangerous ones. The machines recorded as many runes and their effects as they can find, I could get you the file if you'd like." Roo bounded over to a wall of computers and retrieved a pen-drive and a piece of laminated paper. Roo bounced back over to Luke and Netreya, handing the pen-drive catalog of the runes and showing Netreya the paper with a proud smile. "Luke, put that in your TV in your room. Your majesty, I made a picture for you. Do you like it?" On the paper were separate diagrams of the inside of Netreya's body viewed from his left side. They detailed the griffin's skeleton, nervous system, organs, muscles, and blood system; each one was labeled and in colour.

-Luke nodded and accepted the pen drive. "I will do that then." He smiled, turning to Netreya who was looking at the pictures a bit surprised, and one could almost swear blushing. "That is...rather... thank you little one?"[/i] He spoke, where Luke jumped in with a wide smile. "Aww... I am happy to see you are already making friends." Luke grinned that much more, forcing Netreya to glare back at and bow to Roo in thanks.
-"But anyway yes...thank you Roo, this information goes a long way, and I think I understand a great deal of this now...or at least am starting to." Luke gave Roo a small bow with a smile. "I look forward to working with you in the future that much more."

Roo was beside himself with glee, his blue glow emanating more brightly, so glad his diagrams were well-received. Roo returned Luke's Netreya's bow with his own, thinking it is the customary thing to do between them. "I'm so happy you like it! And I look forward to working with you too. Now, let me educate you about The Breed. You've seen the one in the stall hall, so you know what they look like. They are a machine race from the planet Faron, they also call themselves ALs for Artificial Lifeforms. Their planet was invaded by an alien race called the Redgrons and faced annihilation. We stepped in, as Chops happened to have stumbled upon the planet while exploring for new worlds. One ironic thing is we may not have saved The Breed if The General hadn't intervened, though The General considers the successful rescue a side-effect in challenging the Redgrons. We evacuated The Breed in a big airship as The General fought the Redgrons and once we had left The General got bored and fled to find a more worthy opponent than the entire military might of an advanced alien race. None of us had been to Faron since. The Breed, as you probably know, volunteered to adapt the Hub to accommodate you. They wanted nothing out of it either. I suppose they felt useless when they moved here as our machines did all the work and just wanted something to do. Not a stable position being a machine with no use, and the Martyrian phenomenon was their time to shine. Anything more about The Breed you wish to know? Else I will move on to the lecture about the Martyrians, our enemy, themselves."

-Luke pondered for a moment, turning to Roo "No not really, but this is telling me a lot about The General...and how dangerously powerful he is." Luke turned his serious gaze down for a moment and nodded. "Very well, as you explain however, I would like to know, as powerful as the general seems to be, why do you need further assistance? Or is it simply his inability to be in two places at once? Or...can he...do that?" Luke laughed a bit more

Roo's interface seemed to frown and glowed a subtle red. "The General isn't interested in helping us fight the Martyrians. It is more likely The General will use our plight to get closer to the god they revere, and eat it. The General has done it before, challenging godly entities and consuming them. But The General cannot do the impossible, and fighting head on against an enemy with a weapon like The Smog is not a good idea. While The General is capable of performing pretty off-the-scale tricks, The General, like all, cannot fight against the absolute. I'll talk more about The General later." The glow turned blue again. "You want to know more about the Martyrians? So do I. We only know their appearance and intentions. I've put in some videos and audio extracts on that pen-drive too for you. Now, claiming that an entire race wants to wipe out all life is a rather tall accusation, but you'll hear it and see it for yourself in that pen-drive. There were many different Martyrians we saw by attitudes and clothing, I wonder if they are all even of the same culture. They are mostly non-aggressive and were very docile when we first encountered them. They tried to use mind runes to convert us, luckily they didn't know how to deal with machine minds but it demonstrates that if they do this to all life they find on a planet then we may end up fighting those we're supposed to protect. It was also when the Martyrians tried to convert us that we got insight to their intentions and showed us worlds they already have destroyed like trophies. The Martyrians end all life on a planet by constructing these black monoliths which emit The Smog across the whole planet. This lifeless state of a planet is known as 'Final Paradise' to them, and believe all life must return to the 'Final One' which is their god. I'll now reiterate my request, please bring me live Martyrians for me to study and interrogate. Will you do this for me please? And is there anything else you wish to ask about the Martyrians, although I won't be able to say much?"

-"I see...it sounds as if you consider The General more a liability then anything else...but I see your point." Luke smiled, tucking the pin drive into his coat for later. "I intend to watch this in entirety later. As for the Martyrians...I will bring you a live one, but you mustn't harm them, at least let us learn why they are the way they are. If that is as much as you can share, then no nothing specific Roo, thank you." Luke smiles bowing a bit to the tiny bot.
