Xalem was standing in a fully erect position, his eyes fixed upon no particular point in the empty space of the briefing room. The blank expression in his face gave the impression that he was day dreaming. He remained there for few moments, pondering on what he should do next. ‘Considering the circumstance, I suppose I should inquire in regards to the training to Chops. Roo will most likely have his hands full with Luke and Netreya, and I’m certain that I shall be able to see him later today.’
Xalem nonchalantly made his way over to Chops, already having picked out his words as to remain as clear and concise as possible. “I wanted to talk to you in regards to the sparring,” he said with his quiet, monotone voice.

Chops smiled and stowed his pipe back into his pocket before turning to Xalem. "So eager hm? Good. After showing you to your quarters, I'll take you to an empty warehouse where there is more than a satisfactory amount of space to train. Do you wish to train with that sword there, or did you have something else in mind?"

Xalem quickly answered with, “It is my melee weapon of choice, although I’m not proficient in its use, the reason I desire to train. So yes, I shall be using this blade.”

"Sorted then. I shall bring a blade of my own and see what I can make out of you." Chops gave a nod to Xalem and awaited any further queries from the recruits.

When no further questions came, Lord McElroy replaced his top hat atop his head and spoke. "If that is all, just follow Chops through the doors behind you. He'll take you to your quarters where you can get acquainted with your living space. You are then free to do as you please. Welcome to the Hub, enjoy your stay." Chops started for door, leading the recruits, with Roo following. The way through the doors immediately lead to the living complex the recruits were to stay in, those that had constructed it obviously had efficiency in mind. The space the group was in was a small circular area. The floor was out of square steel tiles, polished to a shine. The walls were more steel, riveted together. Steel doors and glass windows bore physical and visual entry to shop-like venues that would supply the recruits with equipment for the missions ahead, making the space feel like an industrial shopping mall. Each store had lit signs and window-displays for their respective wares of weapons and ammo, clothing and armour, food and diner, medical supplies and infirmary, and lastly a general store with workshop. Overhead lamps shaped like round plates kept the environment in bright light. In the center of the space was a double spiral-staircase winding up to the upper floor around a steel column. Inside the column was a teleporter just like the one used in Roo's lab. An AL, a member of The Breed stood in front of the group. It had a short stature that reached shoulder height of an average human. It's body seemed to be made out of a silvery flesh-like metal and had joints arranged like that of a plastic doll. Had a bipedal stance and two arms. A cylinder head sat atop its shoulders with five white dot-lights arranged in a cross acting as eyes. It stared straight at Chops who stared back. An entire conversation has passed in seconds and in silence between them. Chops had been given the details of the recruits' quarters, the equipment stalls and a derogatory joke about Kyle all wirelessly and without cumbersome speech. With that, the AL departed with the teleporter. Chops turned to the group. "Turns out your quarters are very much the same. The Breed didn't want any bad chemistry because of different quality rooms. Though Luke will share a combined space with Netreya. Your rooms are up the stairs. Here on this floor you can find the equipment you need for your missions. Get used to your surroundings, have a browse and you're free till the first mission." Chops allowed the recruits and Roo to pass by him except for Xalem, stopping him with an outstretched arm. "Meet me in the diner there. I'll escort you to training when you're ready." Chops lowered his arm and proceeded directly to said diner. "I think I fancy a curry-wurst..." As the recruits reached upstairs they found an area similar to one below. Instead of stall doors and windows were simple steel doors leading to the recruits' respective rooms with name-tags baring each recruit's name, Luke and Netreya had a double-door with both their names. Inside each standard room was a small simple layout containing a single bed, a desk with chair sat parallel from the bed and a wall-screen television hung above the desk. The floor was a blue carpet and the walls were the same steel from outside. A single ceiling lamp kept the whole room lit, and a full-length window looked over the Hub's grey landscape and sunless starless black sky. To the immediate left of the door leading into the room was another door that lead to an en suite bathroom that contained the necessary sink and toilet along with a combined bath and shower, and was floored and walled with white ceramic tiles. Luke's and Netreya's room was a little under twice as big as the other rooms and a king-sized bed instead of a single bed, and their bathroom had a large basin with shower nozzles instead of the shower-tubs the others had in order to accommodate the larger size of a griffin. Having examined their quarters, the recruits were left to their own devices.

Blade walked in the room, examining every nook and cranny, 'Bit more spacious than I expected. I suppose I could meditate in the bathroom, but...' Blade quickly exited his room. He made his way to the diner to meet with Chops.

Blade made his way over to the door with a sign of red neon lights bent to look like a dinner plate with a knife and fork beside it. Inside was Chops sitting on a bar stool and happily consuming a foot long curry-wurst with fries and curry ketchup at the diner counter. It was an unusual sight to see a robot eating and enjoying food. Noticing Blade's presence, Chops swallowed and turned to him. "Hmm? You require something from me, Blade?" The android said, wiping the grease off his lip and superbly awesome mutton chops making them shine in all their chromium glory.

Blade glanced curiously at Chops, wondering how a robot was eating, but he had seen weirder, "I was wondering if there was a quiet place, away from the others, that I could meditate between missions. It doesn't have to be large. A broom closet would work," Blade said as he walked closer to Chops.

Chops spun round on the stool to face Blade. "I see. Then you can follow me and Xalem to training, and we'll drop you at a warehouse. Is such a space to your satisfaction?"

-Blade nodded, "It's not the space that matters to me, but if it's secluded then it will be perfect. Thank you, Chops. Do you mind if I wait here with you, or would you prefer to be alone?" Blade asked as he motioned his arm at the bar.

"Oh no, not at all. Sit down, have something to eat or drink if you'd like." Chops brushed off the chair next to him, inviting Blade to sit there.

-Blade walked over, and sat down next to Chops, making sure neither of his sword were in the way, "This is quite the place, Chops," Blade said as he saw a bell sitting in front of him. After giving it a quick ring he was met with a member of The Breed, "I'll just have a glass of milk please." The Breed placed a full glass in front of Blade. Blade took a quick sip before turning back to Chops, "Mind if I ask when we'll be heading out? I don't wish to get to comfortable."

"I wanted to avoid saying it will take a day since there's no sunshine here. But that is about how long it will take. A little more than enough time to explore, prepare and rest." Chops said, dunking a fry in curry ketchup and placing it inside his mouthpiece.

-"Only a day? Excellent," Blade said as he took another sip of his milk, waiting for Xalem to show up.

-Luke examined his room along with Netreya quite happy with what they were looking at. "Wow... I didn't think they'd put us up in such a nice room, looks good huh?" Luke asked the large griffin that walked in behind him. "It is quite impressive yes... but I suppose we won't be spending a great deal of time here Arbalester?"[/i] "Heh, indeed we won't, there is far too much to explore here!" Luke sounded almost giddy as he turned swiftly to exit the room and down the stairs.
-After a bit of walking, they looked around for Roo finally, walking up to the little bouncing bot, Luke nodded to him. "Greetings Roo... I was wondering, if you had the time of course, to answer my earlier questions...?" Luke smiled graciously, hoping to sate his curiosity now.

A shiver of glee ran through the little robot and a smile synthesised on its blue-lit interface. Roo turned to Luke and spoke with reverberating excitement in its tone. "Yes yes! I wanted to see you anyway, so no need to be asking for my attention as I have already asked for yours. Come on! This way this way!" Roo lead Luke and Netreya to the teleporter column in the middle of the mall-like lower area. The teleporter door slid open and they got inside and soft bossa nova music played. "I should tell you about this. These teleporter pods are spread out throughout the Hub. Just select a button and it will take you to your desired area." Roo punched the button for his lab with the end of his cable-arm. The door closed and the pod filled with the black liquid like the teleporter before. Once the liquid's levels descended completely, the door opened up to Roo's lab. Roo lead Luke and Netreya out into the center of the lab-space which lit up in their presence. "There are two main reasons I wanted you here. Here comes the first one." A huge hydraulic arms bent down from the ceiling. Attached to end of it appeared to be some sort of gun. The gun had a similar design to Roo's chassis, white and smoothed round. It even appeared to have two of the cable coil pods that Roo uses as limbs on the outside of the thick barrel. The gun itself was about as big as Roo and the barrel was big enough for a human fist to slide in snugly. When the hydraulic stopped, Roo turned to Netreya. "With your permission, your majesty, I would like the grand honour of scanning your entire anatomy. It is quite necessary though. Since you're of a species I am unfamiliar with, I wouldn't know how to operate on you should you get injured; or even what medicine to prescribe if you get sick. Don't worry, you won't feel a thing and it won't take a second."
