Achintya's pom-pom bobbed slightly and the words before him popped with the sound of a bursting balloon. Leaning against a wall, the faerie groaned and waited for the others, tapping a foot impatiently with the occasional scowl at Icelus.

-Watching the somewhat...amusing was the word? Display, Luke brought a hand to his face, and held it there in thought, clouded as his mind was he could not help but find this being curious at the very least. "Your..cousin is it? I apologize for our companions..." He paused, unsure himself what to call it. "Haste, perhaps you can give us a better description? A bit of detail? All to help us find and extract him of course. If he is as unique looking as yourself however, I trust we will have little issue confronting him."

-"You want the Eldritch Warehouse in the Earth Quarter-it's the poorest place in town, so be careful. No telling what those unwashed peasants will try and do. They always grub at their superiors. Warehouse should be signposted...if not, I'm sure your little fluffball can get you there." -"Appearance-wise, my cousin is tall, taller even than you. He has similar wings, but other than that...brown hair, brown eyes, brown clothes. He's the very picture of nondescript. If you see someone who looks incredibly boring, that's probably him."
-"And remember: NO KILLING. If you can rescue him quietly and carefully, so that those who have him don't know you're even there...that would be best. Or if any of you has memory magic, what would be better. Best of luck; don't screw this up."

-Luke gave her an almost amused glance, rare considering his state of mind. "Incredibly boring is it? Well I shall be on the look for for him... hopefully, we shall be back very soon." He stated, turning and relaying the details to those who may not have heard, before glancing back to her. "We will try to be as silent as a mouse, if possible." he said, turning to the door to catch up with Achintya, where in he was ready to explain the matter... unless he somehow knew already. He was good at such tricks after all. Then to be on their way.

"Bheda, huh?" muttered Achintya as Luke rounded the corner, "Sounds like fate to me." "...maybe the Seer's right." The small faerie looked up at Luke's expression of grim determination with his usual friendly smile. "Lead the way cowboy, I'll follow."

"No harm to anyone, I wonder if that will actually be possible." Talfen sighed, as Zephyre spoke. "Wind is a powerful force, and it can subdue without doing harm, we may prove useful in this case, Talfen." He silently nodded to her, shrugging in unison. "Perhaps, but we'll have to arrive there first. If not us, I'm quite sure," he gestured, "you, Achintya, would be able to do something. Put anyone to sleep and give them dreams filled with the graces of heaven, perhaps?" He chuckled slightly, knowing Achintya to be someone who would rather bring a man to the edge of insanity and weeping than give a peaceful sleep.

Achintya gave Talfen and Zephyre a toothy smile. "I'm sure he'll do what he can to hasten our advancement" said the disembodied voice of Icelus. "Thanks Dad" replied Achintya with a good natured wink at Talfen.

-Halt waved aside the crazy, random happen-stance that a man dressed in all brown was in the Earth District. He had been standing back, watching events unfold, just becoming a part of the background. He knew this assignment was a serious one. 'Which means there won't be a reward,' Halt sighed inwardly. 'I can just hear Luke now. "But saving the planet is it's own reward!!!". Then you got this weird little puffball that looks like he could just as easily destroy the world as save it. But that's what makes it exciting.' Halt smirked and stood up straight, following the others. He was still very unsure about what was happening, but had come to the conclusion that he'd just follow and everything would start making sense soon. No point in asking questions when you don't understand the answers.

'I like this. We scratch her back, she scratches ours,' Isaac thought to Tianlong.
'I have never liked that saying. What if the other person's back does not itch?' He replied to Isaac.
Isaac opened his mouth, prepared to speak, but stopped with a confused look before shrugging and looking to the old goblin woman, "I can sneak fairly well. And if worst comes to worst, Tianlong can distract them, causing them to chase him, and then disappear into a wall! It'll cause him to slam into the wall, get knocked out, and let us sneak by. Productive, and a cheap laugh at the same time!"
Tianlong looked into the air, rolling his eyes and shaking his head.

-Netreya flew away, though he maintained his close mental link with his pact partner. Clandestine operations, after all, were not the specialty of large, bright crimson creatures. He went to hunt, and to survey the area around the town for anything that might be useful. The rest of the group made their way to the Earth district.
-The Earth district was so named for the mud that made up its streets, held together its crumbling buildings, and plastered its people. Where the poorer district met its richer neighbours, it offered up suggestions of a more respectful face, with well-built, if shabby, buildings. However, this was just a pretty veneer for the pit of seething filth and corruption that was the neglected part of the old university town. Before the war, the district was tiny; poor but generally well kept. As refugees began pouring in, before they were banned from the town, it began to grow, and grow, and was made up of people who were neither learned nor respectable; it grew into a much larger part of the town, and was mostly just a slum. Unlike the other camps and refugee slums, this one was left untouched for reasons that are unknown, but suspected; the earliest inhabitants of the Earth district came from Lyla, that shadowy college of assassins. Many of the district's residents had nothing in the world that was theirs but their names, and looked longingly at the rest of the prosperous town. Thus, as in many such places, a culture of crime swiftly took hold. Those that couldn't find work fishing the river or serving the rich were generally drawn into large groups of thieves, smugglers, and blackmailers; the leaders of which occupied the nicer buildings on the edge of town. -Therefore, as is often the way, the criminals prospered more and the honest suffered more. The entire area was a mesh of feuds, lies, and protection rackets that fed on the city like a parasite. This was the area into which the group walked, past the Seedy Eagle tavern on the edge, down a filthy track framed by beggars. Seemingly in response to the misery that permeated the place, a damp drizzle of rain began to fall.
-As the group began to walk down that street, one of the beggars reached out and grasped at Luke's red coat. -"Please, sir. I ain't got no money, see. Been sucked dry, if you'll pardon me sir, by them who ain't as honest as me." The woman smiled through filthy teeth. "Please, sir, if you could spare some change, even just a few coppers, sir. So's I can feed my kids, kind sir. Just a copper piece?" She curled her bare toes in the mud, and shuddered. "I lost my job helpin' at the fishery. Please sir!" Her expression was one of artful desperation.

-Turning his eyes to the worn down trotted woman asking for his help, Luke paused in his tracks, ahead of most of the others if but for a few feet. Within him he felt his heart ache for the poor woman, yet...something else, a feeling...rather, a thought that crossed the back of his thoughts just as he laid eyes on her. He couldn't quite understand it...but it made him wish to simply keep walking. As the thought subsided however, he quickly snapped back to reality, looking upon her with greatly saddened eyes, reaching into his coat. "Of course you may..." He mustered, reaching into the pouch and handing the woman 10 gold pieces, careful not to reveal how much he did have however, smiling to her with sympathy. "May you find yourself a decent place to rest, and fill your bellies tonight and many nights to come."

-The woman blinked, and hid the gold in a pocket. If Luke had been expecting her to look pleased, he was soundly let down. Rather, she seemed disappointed. -"Thank ye kindly, sir. Sweet of you..." she trailed off into silence, eying his companions. Her gaze rested on Achintya. -"You're a fairy, ain't you? Can you heal? I have a mighty bad disease, sir, that stops me from sleeping at nights. Cough all the time, I do. Are you a healer, sir? Can you help me, mighty one?" Again, her manner was carefully obsequious.

The faerie looked at the old woman, his eyes full of sympathy. "Of course, you poor soul. Simply give me a moment to cast the spell. If I could ask you all to stand back." The small creature took a deep breath and whipped his arms wide. There was a distant rumbling of thunder. "OOOH. ARRG." yelled Achintya as a freezing wind whipped down the narrow street, scattering hats, cloth and dust everywhere. "SPIRITS OF EARTH, SPIRITS OF AIR, ARISE!" A chunk of mortar fell from a nearby building and landed on the floor with a crash that echoed down the now silent street. Achintya continued. "BY THE POWER OF ALL THAT IS FAERIE, I COMMAND YOU-" Here the small ball of fluff threw his arm toward the woman, grabbing her by the nose with a gloved hand. "-RELEASE THIS POOR WOMAN OF HER TERRIBLE BURDENS, SET HER FREE!" Another crack of thunder. "FREEEE!" A dog howled in the distance. "FREEEEEEE!"
The echo of Achintya's shout lasted a few seconds longer than was possible, becoming louder then quieter repeatedly. He put his hand down. "There," said the faerie with a sunny smile, "consider yourself saved."

-The woman stared at him for a long moment, before grinning wryly. -"Fair's fair, I suppose. I can work with that." She glanced at the others, musingly examining their weapons. "I was scared you'd all be completely soft and kind hearted and good," here she winked at Luke, "No offence meant, pretty boy." The woman stood up, wiping her face with a cloth as she did so. The other beggars in the street edged away nervously, as the woman threw the cloth to the ground carelessly. She was rather taller than one might expect, and not bent-backed or crippled in any way; her bearing was confident, but not forcefully so, and her now clean face was thoughtfully attractive. -"Rumour has it you were seen with Bheda...and now you're here. Adding those two facts together, seems likely you're after her cousin. If so," she paused for a moment, seeming to debate with herself, "I may have a proposition for you, if you're game."

-Luke watched the display a bit dumbfounded until she gave him a glance, one that told him what he wanted to know about her attitude just now. "I see... a test of morality, or perhaps just get your giggles off of such sympathetic folk." Luke sighed almost disappointingly, the tone in his voice less amused as it was gloom. "Yes, we are seeking...him. I take it you know the one we seek? Or who we are with? What purpose does this test of yours hold, and what proposition do you intend?"
