After properly watching the first few episodes, I though I might as well post my opinions. The concepts presented in individual episodes of Cromartie can range from mundane to nonsensical. On one hand of this spectrum, the characters live out some of the most pointless things one could think of. While this may sound like a failure, they pull it off in such a way that one can't help laughing at how complex the characters take this to be. My favorite example of this has to be episode 3, where the characters spend the whole time trying to remember the name of a song whose melody is all they know, going to ridiculous lengths to uncover it. On the hand, but usually also coupled with the aforementioned, is the nonsensicalness of how the characters behave. Whether it be total ignorance of the obvious, or having some of the most specific dislikes known to man kind, they certainly remain memorable. While not the best anime, certainly doesn't appeal to everyone, it's rift from more common anime narration is well appreciated. It's definitely worth a look.
TL;DR : Watch it or I'll stab you in the face
