After doing some chat RPs, I figured it was about time I do a formal one. Since I can't get online until well after most of you have passed out, there will need to be some rules for this RP. So let me go over those first before I actually get into the substance of the RP. Don't worry, they're not too bad.
1. Only one post per person per day. This is mostly to get as many people involved as possible. You won't need to be online with everyone else in order to get involved in the story. It will make the story slow, I realize, so it may not be for everyone. If you don't post in a certain day, though, a skip will be assumed.
2. You'll have to make new characters for this one. Sorry, you'll see why in a bit.
And that's it. Alright, now for the actual RP. Since I do have some rules, I figured I'd give you a little substance as to what I'm planning here. The RP will be mostly a fantasy-style RP. It takes place on a planet named Telana. Telana is a large planet full of men, dwarfs, elves, hobbits, half-elves, and, of course, moogles (you can request more if you would like). However, despite the variety of races, Telana is a conspiracy theorist's heaven. It's run by two secret societies with lodges in every town, the Luminaires and the Firmaments.
So your character will have to be a fantasy-type character, preferably a young one, but an older one is fine. It can be any of the races that I mentioned or any other standard fantasy race (I'm pretty flexible on most things). When the RP starts, your character will be a normal being, not OP at all. I will OP the characters as they go along, based on the decisions that are made and how the character is played.
What I would like from you:
Character Name, Appearance, Personality, Hometown, Skills (remember, not OP at all...yet), and anything else you would like.
To give you a little information about how it will start, there will be a simultaneous initiation of all the characters into, well, one of the secret societies through a Cloister of Trials-ish temple, but...hopefully more interesting.
So, hopefully I haven't rambled too much and you are still interested in the RP. ....Dear God, what have I done?

Name: Alatar
Appearance: Very tall, has jet black hair that is tied up in a pony tail that falls to his shoulders, wears a black tunic with a gray riding cloak that has a hood, carries a simple oak staff with runes carved into it, and has a steel longsword sheathed on his belt. It has no scabbard, and simply hangs by a small loop that's wide enough to fit the blade, but not the hilt, keeping it in place. His skin is lightly tanned and he's a couple inches over 7 feet tall. He has a grace about him that only an elf could maintain and he has the classic ears to prove his race. The pipe he carries is an old style, one with the long neck and make of oak tree.
Hometown: Elven City of Elven City. There were lots of beautiful gardens and fountains, life and magic seemed to hang thick in the air, and it was full of light and music. The city was placed on a hilltop, looking much of the countryside, though it's main purpose is to guard passage to the seas.
Personality: Very wise and kind, but is very passionate when it comes to his friends. He likes to think decisions through very thoroughly, and is not the type to just blindly rush in with a sword swinging. Whenever minor squabbles arise in a group, he is usually the one to either sit away and let it happen, knowing that it'll sort itself out eventually. He has no feelings of superiority towards other races, and is accepting of just about anyone. He tends to take long moments during rest periods to sit and smoke his pipe and calm his mind, thinking of who knows what. He doesn't drink very heavily, but he does smoke his pipe a lot. Not necessarily chain, but still enough.
Skills: Has a basic understanding of the inner workings of magic and shows real potential. Some have said that he could be the greatest wizard of all time, should he survive long enough. He excels at destruction magic, such as shooting fire, freezing the air around an enemy, etc. He also has a gift for healing magic and can hold his own with moderate healers. He has also dabbled quite heavily into support magic, enough so that his party members aren't completely by themselves in a fight. Some have said that, again, should her survive long enough, he would be able to move the earth with a snap of his finger. This is all speculation of course, for the results won't be seen for many years to come.
Other: He already has his own horse, named Shadowmere. It's pure black and has burning red eyes. He also has dabbled in sword fighting, and can handle himself pretty well in that field, especially when dual wielding with his staff. His blade was given to him by his old friend, Ebenezar, and has yet to receive a name because both men can't think of a suitable name for a sword that represents their friendship.

Character Name: Eliana
Appearance: Half-Elf, Tall woman, emerald eyes, long raven black hair, middle frame. Wears light plate armor, hugs her form to allow for quick movement, but provides rather high protection. The armor has hints of gray and blue mixed in, the metal bits hiding blue and white under clothing. She uses a longsword, but has training in many weapon styles and types, giving her flexibility. It is in a sheath at her side, adored with a dagger as well above it along with a pack she carries with her just in case.
Personality: She is normally kind to those she meets, at least to be polite, however can be leery of anyone she deems suspicious. She can be especially nice to those she likes, but even more so encourages her to tease and joke with them. Very intelligent lass, living on her own has taught her much about the world and herself, though she is never against learning new things. She does have a sense of justice, one she feels is right, that only close friends can sway her against, and even then is unlikely to change her mind.
Hometown: Felinor, a small settlement not terribly far from a main city where the residents get a lot of their supplies. She was raised by her Father for most of her young life, who taught her much of what he knew of battle. The town was watched over by a small group of Paladins, where she later joined and learned of holy magic and improved upon what her father taught her. An event in this small settlement caused her to leave abruptly and venture out into the world.
Skills: She is talented with many blades and blunt weapons, and has even dabbled with polearms and archery. As due her Paladin training, she has gained the use of holy magic, or rather, is able to heal herself or allies. That is not the only purpose however, and has even learned how to focus her magic talents for more...unique purposes.

Character Name- Kaane Ten'oio Appearance- A male, but with long and uncut hair in the back, trimmed in the front to avoid being a hassle, as per the traditions of his elven clan. It was tied in the back, something akin to a pony tail but more to gather the hair in the back, to keep it from flying around fully wild, making for trouble in combat. He wore heavy plate, strongly built in his muscles, enough to easily wear it, though it did slow him compared to any wearing of lighter plate armor, or leather, however not having much dexterity in the first place made him inclined to go for the added protection heavy armor afforded. He had black hair, smooth and fine, that in the back fell beyond his shoulders, in the front coming to his eyebrows, also nestled behind pointy ears on the side. He wore a dark green tunic under his armor and, sometimes changed out for a rich blue with gold-colored lines along the sides running up to his shoulders for his formal wear. Standard black trousers were worn with each, possessing nothing fancy for leg-wear. His shoes were also a deep green, resting closer to black however, compared to the filled out and deep pine-needle green of his tunic. His complexion was fair, white and pale in color, smooth and unwrinkled with his still young age, no scars to yet speak of. Personality/Background- Very formal and polite, never one to feel enough fear to run from battle, which had brought him much trouble in his past, even now in his journeys. He feels much pride and honor as an elf, despite being from only a simple and humble, yet well established, family that lived peacefully within, fighting fiercely outside of and for it against bandits, wild animals, or others that would make an assault. As for the trouble he would get himself into, it had led to his leaving of the village on one night at the age of 17. It had been four years now until this journey began, his skills somewhat refined from then facing combat in his aimless travels, just with the goal to improve himself. His refined manner had not dulled, and his speech remained formal, not having made any friends to lose it with over an informal setting, something ingrained upon him to this day. He is gentle in nature, but fierce in battle when put into it, never one to back down when challenged though, feeling regret for those that he kills who don't harbor what he would deem evil traits, a 'bad' person, holding a sense of justice with his pride, also sticking up for the weak, holding distaste for those who would abuse their power, stemming from his family and how he was raised. Hometown- Tumba Toure. This village was within a forest, sheltered from many but still having to deal with wandering bandits, dangerous wild animals, and a variety of other assaults from any who found their presence dangerous, such as humans hiring bandits or mercenaries to drive them out, none of which had been successful. Within the forest, a large village with a hierarchical society had been carved out, and established over time. A section of the large forest had been cleared out, only that which was necessary, to make for the growing population and the wooden houses and walls that they made use of, a respect for nature still held, but these elves finding a use for it, and putting trees to practical use at the same time as honoring them, and all living beings. Some other elven villages found this as an affront to their race, humans to be expected of it; this village betraying them, garnering a special hate. Elves in this village had jobs like humans may have, but also something of a 'normal' elven culture. Bows were common place, magic was present but not holding a large presence, and blacksmiths forged metal armor over simple and sometimes ornate clothing that you'd expect of an elf. Skills- Proficient in the use of a mace, not trained in anything else specifically, however having dabbled in magic and having such a bloodline full of many great warriors or magic users, which almost seemed to flow through the genes, but all had been brought up and raised around it, as had Kaane, allowing for them to easily pick up such things if having ample opportunity to do so. Other- Erm, can't think of anything else, and... inb4 tl;dr

Character name: Caterina di Cabaliero
Race: Human
Age: 26
Hometown: Valenthia, the capital of a small country by the sea called Castillunia, famed for its beautiful horses, fine food, passionate people and ruthless noblemen. Ruled by a Queen of astonishingly shrewd intelligence, the common people adore her and her nobles respect her. This does not prevent assassination attempts on their part.
Occupation: Holds a position known as The Queen's Falcon. Somewhere between a spy and an ambassador, Caterina travels the country, and the world, gathering information and opinion for Queen Isabella da Valenthia so that Her Royal Highness is well informed in making policy. These duties also require her to act somewhat as a champion for her Queen when needed, thus enabling her to duel for her country's honour. She is not an assassin, and does not kill people outside of battle unless directly ordered.
Appearance: About 5'9", dark brown hair that is fairly long, but held up in a stick-twist by an arrow snapped in half (so both the fletching and arrowhead are pointing up) so that it falls around her face and shoulders, but doesn't get in the way in fights. Eyes are dark brown, skin is warm and olive toned. Gently beatiful face with a calm, open smile. Knee-high red leather boots, black riding breeches, a long red (same as boots, a shade or two darker than cloak) tunic that reachs mid-thigh, slashed to reveal yellow-gold inner shirt. Small falcon shape, stitched in gold, following the lines of the collar. Red cloak, brighter and lighter than the tunic, yellow-gold inner lining, held by a golden falcon cloak pin. Carries light pieces of black leather armour in saddlebags, that fit perfectly over her light clothing. This is donned before a battle, where she uses her bow from horseback.
Skills: Weapons: Talented fencer, both with a single weapon, 'à la florentine' with a case of rapiers (a blade in each hand), and with a rapier and courtsword. She carries a beautiful swept-hilt rapier, and a shorter court-sword whose hilt is patterned with diving falcons. She also has a quiver of red-and-gold fletched arrows and a hun bow as she is a skilled horse archer.
Horse: Rides a black Andalusian-type horse called Torrado. Is an excellent rider, trained to the highest standards both in battle and in haute ecole dressage. She adores this horse.
Other: Has a lyre, which she plays beautifully. Has a keen knowledge of the etiquette of many nations/peoples. She is a fine dancer, a good pickpocket, is a sure climber, very agile, and a wonderful eaves-dropper.
Personality: Because her role involves integrating herself with both higher and lower classes, she is refined and elegant and frank and straightforward in turns. Disarmingly open and charming, she puts most people at ease and invites trust very easily. She is gentle-natured, and has a fine-tuned sense of honour and social justice, but is ruthlessly devoted to her purpose. This leads to her helping poor child-thieves steal from the market on one day, and throwing sand in an opponent's eyes in a fight that is crucial to her Queen's survival. She tolerates every sort of person, but dislikes higher classes who lack sympathy for the poor (though she would never make this obvious). She is an eloquent talker, has an unsatiable curiousity, loves to learn and adores all types of animals, with whom she has a fair hand (especially horses and birds). Fascinated by magic, though she cannot learn it. Tends to ask magic users a lot of questions when she meets them.
Background: An orphan girl who stumbled and fell in front ot the Queen's horse in a parade, Caterina is a blend of humble origins and royal upbringing. She was adopted by the queen and raised as a daughter alongside the young Prince, though she was always destined for the role of Falcon, rather than Princess. She sees the royalty of Castillunia as family, and the dirt poor as kindred spirits. She dedicates herself to helping both when she can, though her beloved 'mother' is always her first priority.
Other: Has a pure white falcon who flies incredibly fast to relay messages to Queen Isabella.
Basically, a bard without the music.

Name: Nathaniel Wrathgar (Also called Nate or Nathan)
Race: Inderlonian
Age: Unkown
Hometown: Originally from a small tribal village to the east, but now resides in the small town of Hillspar. It’s a rather large town to the east a few miles from the coast. It’s famous for the arena where people travel from all corners of the land to gamble, and if they are fighters, test their might in non lethal matches. The Count keeps in close touch with all of his people and is well respected for his leadership and combat skills, being a former arena Grand Champion. The town itself relies on outside trade due to its lack of resources. Hillspar also has good relations with Nathan’s former tribe, often trading supplies or even sending warriors and guardsmen to train under them for a few months. The people are generally kind, but hardy. Nobles have earned everything they have and do not think they are better. The poorer side of town is also quite nice even with the low income. Crime is next to non existent thanks to the hardy guards and noble warriors that populate the town.
Occupation: Nathan is the newest Grand Champion of the arena. When he’s not being challenged for his title he spends his says training or exploring the surrounding mountains or forests. He is often paid by the captain of the guard if he runs into any bandits, but is not an official member.
Appearance: Being an Inderlonian he has naturally tanned skin and dark red eyes. He stands at around 6’5 and has a muscular build. He has black hair the reaches just below his shoulders with a full beard. He usually wears full plate armor, minus the helmet, when he walks around town, and at home he wears silk pajamas to relax.
Skills: He has a natural resistance to the elements, poison, and disease, and a very high tolerance for pain. He also has a lot of stamina and can run for miles without tiring. He can use either blunt or bladed weapons, and has even dual wielded from time to time. But he primarily sticks to a sword and shield. His hand to hand skills are also nothing to be laughed at, with his tribe teaching him their unique fighting style.
Other: Nathan lives in a luxurious manor in the nicest part of Hillspar with his butler Chives and a Siberian Husky puppy named Duke. Chives takes care of his house while he’s gone and the two are good friends.
Personality: Nathan is generally a calm, laid back individual. He is proud of his Inderlonian roots and does not take kindly to insults to his people. He will never back down from a challenge no matter who the foe is. He treats everyone he meets with respect so long as he is treated the same way, and doesn’t think he’s better than anyone. While he is kind he is also not a very forgiving person. If you wrong him expect to pay dearly. He's well respected by all of the citizens of Wrathgar for his humility and what he has done to help the town.
Background: He arrived in Hillspar around a year and a half ago. He somehow had enough money to buy a small shack in the poor part of the city where he lived while he battled through the ranks in the arena. He became Grand Champion a few months later and used his earnings to buy his current home. He found and hired Chives a few days after buying the home. Aside from this not much is known about his background or why he came to Hillspar. He usually keeps it to himself since he does not trust very easily. Even Chives doesn’t know everything there is to know about Nathaniel Wrathgar.
