"Hardly a briefing..." he muttered to himself
*Seems like this guy was only brought here to be a welcoming committee and guide, ..it explains his "casual" demeanor*
"... I guess it cant be helped. One final thing; wouldn't it have been easier for the transport to drop us off at the city rather than making us walk there?"

James smiled as he turned to Sepp, "I was waiting for someone to ask that! Turns out that there's been an increase in bandits attacks near here. So they decided that sending us on a small hiking trip might be a good test of your abilities. Here's to hoping we see some action!" James exclaimed with a laugh as he walked forward.
After walking for what seems like an hour or so James stopped, "I hear something," he said as a man dropped from the trees and landed in front of him,
"We'll be taking everything you have now," the gruff looking man that stood before them said,
"I'm assuming that we're surrounded correct?" James asked. Before the man could respond more men dropped from the trees and surrounded the group. They wore leather armor and carried blunt weapons. James chuckled a bit as he looked at their supposed leader, "You guys handle the grunts, this one's mine." The man that stood before James gave a look of anger,
"YOU DON'T KNOW WHO YOU'RE FUCKING WITH KI- GURGH!!" The man stopped as James had his fist buried into the man's stomach, "BOSS!" One of the men yelled as he ran towards James. The man lifted his club overhead and brought it down, but James was gone, "Miss me?" James asked as he stood behind the man, "HOW THE FU-" The man was cut off as James' foot slammed into his chin and sent him flying into a nearby tree, "KILL THEM ALL!!" One of the men yelled as the rest charged the group.

-Miles chuckled softly, echoing gently against the air. "I think I see now how valuable we are to them." He sighed, before allowing a bolt crackle across his hand where he held the hilt of his weapon, it was heavily embroidered with several choice jewels, as well as carefully executed carvings. "I think I like it."
Miles twisted his head around without moving his body far, landing on the earth with his bare feet, three long toes gripped the earth tightly. Bringing the hilt above his head, Miles brought his hand to it and slowly began to draw it back, as he did a powerful pulsating beam of energy formed a sword from the thing, until it was nearly the length of his body. "Foolish filth, you will perish by my hand." His voice echoed angrily, shifting his body forward slightly, suddenly he was gone towards the nearest grunt, tearing a small path through the earth, leaving a path until suddenly he reappeared, his blade embedded within the man before he had a chance to strike. "Fuck! Jimmy!" Another cried out, calling the attention of 3 others who closed around Miles. Listening to the man gurgle in pain, Miles twisted his body, the beam blade slicing its way out of his body coming into contact with an axe that was about to strike, slicing it in half easily, before coming into contact with the victim's head, tearing it cleanly from his body. The remaining three stuttered "What...what the fuck are you!?" He called, as one of his braver friends roared in bloodlust, swinging his club-like piece of wood at Mile's back. The piece struck, shattering against Miles' armor, before he slowly turned to face him. "Scum...how dare you touch me with your filthy mits..." He hissed, eyes burning a harsh white now, gripping him by the neck and lifting the man up, his three talons squeezing his throat, forcing him to choke out a cry of pain. The other two shook where the stood before suddenly leaping at him, blindly hoping to over power him. Miles swiftly slammed the man into the earth, snapping his neck, before swinging his blade hard, gutting both in one swing, before thrusting his blade through one's throat, gripping the other with his hand and slamming him into the earth. Finally Miles released the men allowing them to fall, dead long before they reached the earth. "Such lowly creatures can not harm me." He hissed, his voice echoing powerfully through the area.

Iridis barely moved up in time as the first came, his sword flashing in the sun. Iridis rolled and regained his footing, sending a sharp kick to the bandit's groin. "Shit!" the bandit swore, raising his bearded axe above his head, "You'll leave here in chunks, blind man!" Keeping his cool, Iridis sidestepped the heavy blow, hand grasping for his own katana. In one swift movement, he drew his katana and slashed upwards, lacerating the bandit's cheek, staggering his foe.
"Fine you son of a bitch, wanna play?" he countered, his anger rising, "I've fought mudcrabs tougher than you!" Iridis rolled to the left, barely avoiding the bandit's low slash. He knocked the axe aside, then struck the bandit on the head with his hilt. It worked. The bandit fell down into the mud, his axe thrown into the back of another bandit. "Please messere, mercy!" the diminished man grovelled, his facial expression wracked with pain; his clothes bloodied. "Mercy? No mercy for rapers and murderers" growled Iridis, "No mercy for those who prey on the weak, oh no," His rage growing to a terrible crescendo. Instead of decapitating him as was his way, he drew his revolver is one swift move, the gun sat poised upon the head of he who had sought to kill him in cold blood. He fired, the echoes of the gunshot holding a certain pleasure, the feeling that the world had been made slightly less...shit; the blood splatter, an awakening.
His bloodlust only temporarily sated, he allowed himself a slight smile. "Oh I'm sorry, did you think I was helpless?" he cried to the duo of bandits that had been reluctantly edging towards him. He lowered his blade, his stance welcoming to their enraged state. "Let's see what the rest of you can do," he spoke, left hand gesturing to them. They looked at each other then, then back to the body laying in the mud with the bits of face on Iridis' coat. Regardless of what they thoughts, they both pointed their blades directly at Iridis and advanced, expressions grim. 'Better trained, it seems,' thought Iridis, his hand tightening awkwardly on his katana, 'Oh well, let's see what their innards look like!" Contrary to what they expected, he charged at them and leaped just in time to avoid the tips of their stolen steel. He landed just behind them, decapitating one and maiming the other. In a last effort of defiance, the second one drew his dagger; hoping to catch his foe off guard. Iridis, ever quick, caught the dagger in mid and and flicked his wrist, sending the dagger directly into the man's eye.
He drew himself to his full height, hungering for more.

Mitsuro stood calmly as 5 of the renegades surrounded him. "Give it up fa-" one of them said. He stopped there, and fell to the ground, writhing for air. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM?!" a goon said, "Drowning," Mitsuro said as he raised his hand. Slowly, for dramatic effect, he clenched his hand, which wasn't needed. Once his fingertips met his palm, the man to his "6" was suddenly in a casing of water. All his skin but his head began to prune. After about 5 seconds, the mans skin fell off, leaving a blood and water soaked skeleton. Mitsuro just smiled. The other three men began to freak out. One, in blind rage, swung at Mitsuro's head. It connected, but his head only turned to vapor. "You see," he said filling the assailants lungs with water vapor, condensing into water, "If I time it JUST right, I can't be hurt by such weapons." As the attacker fell limp, the other two stood there in awe. "Eenie, Meenie, Miney," Mitsuro said, looking back and forth from his opponents. Just then a huge, ice boulder fell on both of the attackers, "Mo."

-The first man was dead before he hit the ground. Cleptsii had seen the ambush coming and immediately drew his pistol. He noticed a slight rustle above him as the men prepared to drop down. "Rookie mistake." He said and shot with deadly accuracy, slamming the guy out of the air as he had just begun his decent. The body slammed into the ground, all life already out of him. Cleptsii turned and shot, point blank, a two lasers into another man's face without even blinking. He heard a guy try to jump him from behind and kicked, without even looking, the man in the chest, throwing him back and crushing his ribcage. Cleptsii quickly turned around and shot the man twice in the head, just to be sure, and moved on. This was all over in a matter of 15 seconds. "Hmm, I seem to be off my game today." Cleptsii said, a hint of disappointment in his voice. As he was mulling over his performance, another man had managed to get a log and chucked it at the warrior. It took him off guard and he stumbled, his pistol falling out of his hands. "You did not just make a warrior drop his weapon." Cleptsii said, a rage building up in his eyes. He drew his sword on his back and pushed a button. The tips of the blade began to hum with a type of energy and glowed slightly. Cleptsii rushed the man, and before he could even react, his left arm was sliced off. He let out a scream, and began to shake with pain. The spray of blood coming from his newly acquired stump sprayed into Cleptsii's face. Cleptsii quickly shook his head, getting the blood out of his eyes and licked his lips, tasting the blood. His body shook slightly as he tasted what every soldier longed for. A new fire glowed in his eyes, one of bloodlust. He shouted and drove his sword straight through the man, blood spraying everywhere. Cleptsii laughed as the shower washed over him, filling him with a strange need. Cleptsii quickly slashed to the left, almost cutting the man in half, but leaving some of his body behind. Cleptsii rushed off and drove his blade into another man before the first victim had even hit the ground. A triumphant cheer escaped the warrior's lips.
-Kazuma's katana was in his hands almost immediately after the men had dropped from the trees. He slashed at a man who had attempted to charge him, but didn't allow the blade to go all the way through. The cut was deep enough that it reached his heart, but it left his body mostly intact. Kazuma then thrust his hand to the side, blue fire enveloping his palm. He clenched his fist, destroying the card. The sound of glass shattering filled the air as he yelled "PERSONA!". Immediately, a strike of thunder slammed into another henchman. He screamed for a second, then was silent as he collapsed, dead. As Kazuma recovered, another man had tried to jump at him. This didn't catch Kazuma off guard and he slashed upward, killing the man in the same fashion as the first. A dark aura had begun to surround him and one of his eyes began to glow gold. He grinned and slammed his fist into one henchman's head, almost crushing his skull. He turned around and slammed the hilt of his sword into another head, making the man go flying and crash into a tree. "5 down." Kazuma grinned again, his voice with a slight reverb to it.

The immediate way they were thrust into battle caught Valen off guard. “Well this will be fun,” said Valen in a voice that displayed his irritation. At the first opportunity he had Valen unsheathed his sword while one of the bandits rushed toward him. Valen attempted to impede the swings of his axe to the best of his abilities. He lifted a nearby stone and launched it at his leg. The bandit stumbled onto the ground just as Valen thrust his blade into his back. Valen gnarled angrily, “Die you filthy cur!” The man’s face contorted as life withdrew from his body.
Another brigand hastily made his way to Valen, seemingly unmoved by his acquaintance’s death. Valen remarked, “Why you’re an adamant one, aren’t you?” He vigorously tried to strike Valen down with his iron mace. This was to little avail as the weapon’s lightweight nature made it simple to manipulate. Valen would control every one of its movement’s. Tired of the redundancy of this cycle, Valen countered with his saber, nearly severing his arm. The pain caused the bandit to release his weapon. “You son of a b-,” was all the man could say before Valen plunged his longsword into the man’s chest. “Well then, who’s next?” said Valen with a smirk on his face. The nearby men’s expressions showed the fear and horror they felt. Seeing as how none of them were moving, Valen took the offensive, running toward them with the intent of relinquishing them of their lives.

As the Battle raged around him Sepp stood uninterested in the sudden chaos, instead he stood observing his traveling companions talents and abilities
"It appears we have some interesting characters here" he said to himself.
Suddenly, a war-cry brought him back from his daydream. A bandit came lunging toward him swinging a club, Sepp narrowly avoiding his swings and leaping backwards to gain some ground. Before him stood the bandit who had attacked him, quickly joined by two others standing uniformly together.
"Three against One! you stand no chance!" shouted one of the bandits aggressively with a demented grimace on his face.
Sepp stood in a relaxed stance and gave off a small laugh "Boy your maths sucks...."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY!?" The bandit screamed "what the fuck his he talking about?" one of the other bandits said turning to his companion. As he turned to confirm with his comrade, he realised that his fellow bandit had already fallen to his knees, a single bullet hole penetrating his skull
"There are only two of you" proclaimed Sepp, staring at the bandits now with a haunting grin on his face, revealing a single silenced pistol in his hand with smoke gently billowing from its barrel.
The bandits half out of anger and half of fear charged toward Sepp both swinging furiously, Sepp now dodging the heavy and slow attacks with ease now he was aware of the impeding attacks, and the opportune time dropping to crouching position he sweeped the legs of one of the attackers with a spinning kick causing the attacker to flip over backwards, landing on his back with a heavy and dull thud. Upon rising Sepp lunged toward the other, quickly drawing his pistol to the underside of the bandits jaw, lingering a split second so the brevity of the situation could run over his victims mind before pulling the trigger. As Sepp stood fully upright he saw the final surviving attack trying to Scrabble away on all fours in desperation to survive
"Lets see how far you can get..."
Sepp slowly began to un-screw the silencer on his pistol as if there were no hurry, with the final turn he detached the barrel, placed it in his pocket and glanced up at the fleeing bandit, he had barely ran over 300 yards down the path in desperation
"...How disappointing" he said as he drew his pistol, aimed for what seemed only the briefest of moment before firing a single shot followed by the blur of a man in the distance collapsing to the floor.

James surveyed the field as Sepp finished off the remaining bandit, "Nice job for the most part, but," he stopped as he turned to Iridis, "We don't kill people that have given up, understood? Sepp the same can be said for you. You could have shot that one in the leg so we could get information. Fortunately I have their leader right here," James said with a smirk as he raised the man up. His eyes were rolled back in his head and he was limp with drool flowing from his mouth. James slapped his cheek, "Hello? Fuck. Ok turns out I killed him with that first punch, but aside from that I'd say this was a good ambush!" James said with a laugh as they headed towards the city.
"Just a little further... THERE!" James exclaimed as he moved a branch to the side and allowed the others to see the capitol city of Marthas. It was a massive metropolis with highways running all throughout and a massive wall keeping the dangers of the forests out, "Nice isn't it?" James asked as he walked towards the gate.
"Who are you?" The guard asked as James and the group approached. James pulled out his Readius and pressed a few buttons. Within a few moments the gates were open and they were greeted by a group of armed guards, "Please follow us to see the mayor."
After walking through the city the group was greeted with a large white building. As they walked inside they saw people hard at work, and by hard at work I mean playing Farmville. They walked down a large hallway until the end and walked through two large doors to see a short pudgy man wearing a fancy suit and a top hat looking at them.
"Greetings gentlemen! I am the mayor of this fine city! If the group will wait here so I can talk to you in private that would be dandy!" He said with a smiles as he looked at James,
"It's fine. So what are we here about?" James asked as he walked into a back room with the mayor.
After a few minute had passed James walked back out and addressed the group, "According to the mayor a few small settlements have been attacked. No survivors for any of them, most buildings destroyed. He says that they sent a team up to Frostback Mountain to see if anything strange has happened there, but they never came back. He's arranged for a shuttle to take us there right now, or in the morning when we're more rested. I say we get a good night's rest and head there first thing tomorrow, how about the rest of you?" James asked as he looked at his team.

Sepp sighed audibly
"Well as much as I'd like to get this mission over and done with..."
He said as he started to attempt to rub some blood and dirt stains from his jacket
"...I wouldn't be wholly against waiting if it meant I could get cleaned up. Shooting someone at point-blank tends to get....messy..."
He groaned disappointingly to himself while still scratching at his clothing
"This is why I normally stay at range" he muttered

-Kazuma thought about it. "I agree. I think it would be better to just stay the night here. I'm tired from the walk and I really need to wash up. I got really sweaty in that jungle." He said, grinning.
-"I also need to wash up. This blood isn't going to come off me on its on, you know." Cleptsii said, grinning devilishly.

-Miles hovered quietly behind many of them turning his gaze to the group first then to James. "I would say that rest is the best option here... it would not do well to have half our team exhausted for the trek up a mountain now would it?" Miles chuckled a bit turning back to the ground "I will leave it up to you however, I am simply here to do a job."

James looked to Miles and smiled, "If it had been up to me we would have rested to start with, but since a majority has voted it looks like we're staying in town for the night," James said as he turned to Valen, Mitsuro, and Idiris, "Sorry if you wanted to head up there right away, but this is for the best."
The group was led to a rather large hotel near where their shuttle would be. As they walked in they were greeted by a friendly, and rather attractive, desk clerk, "Welcome to Casa de Jason! You're the TSC Captain correct?" The woman asked as she looked at James. James nodded as he showed her his Readius. After a few beeps and bops she handed him a card, "You'll all be staying in the penthouse for the night. Enjoy your stay," she said with a warm smile.
A ding was heard as the elevator reached the top floor of the hotel. When the doors open they were met with a gorgeous two story penthouse that came with every luxury that you could imagine. Pool, bolwing ally, mini bar, you name it! James smiled as he walked in and checked the time, "Three o' clock. I think I'll head out and check out the city. Anyone else interested?"

"...So its settled then!" Sepp blurted out barely letting James finish his last word, he hadn't listened to a word that had been said, and he started to walk away from the group in search for somewhere to get washed up, he left the area before absorbing any of the information about arrangements for the evening or when and where they would be meeting up for before tomorrows mission.

Miles looked around the room for a moment, then back at James. "Check out the city? What do you intend to do Sir James? Pick fights with the neighborhood bullies?" He chuckled a bit turning back to the room. "Why not rest for the night? Surely you are tired as well?"
