Ok, ok... I'm almost positive everyone has gone through a fan-fiction phase and idk what possessed me to do this, perhaps sleep depredation, I'm not quite sure but regardless, here is something I wrote when I was but a young lad obsessing over the Tales of series like a little fan-boy *sigh* good times...

ToA: Ch.1: A New Enemy
Van's Revenge
"Damn it!!!" cried Van as he realized his situation. His wonderful Eldrant had collapsed around him. He soon calmed himself as he realized what has happened could be better then he had hoped for. Van smirked as he recalled the last few events before the collapse.
"Master Van, release Lorelei now!" cried Luke as he viciously struck at Vans powered up form. The battle had been long and it became clear that the only way to win would be to rip Lorelei from Van. This, Luke thought, would be the only way to end the fight soon. Then Luke prepared as Tear sung the Fonic Hymns to awaken Lorelei. He charged at his former master.
"Release him NOW!!" Luke cried as he thrust the Key of Lorelei into Van's chest.
"Aghhhhhhhhhh!!!" then as Van could feel Lorelei being drawn away, He thought of a quick solution, though dangerous as it was he decided he could not lose everything. After an intense burst of light all that was left was the Key.
"Luke?!" cried his friends as they searched for their lost friend, but to no fruition.
"Humph... It seems... I lost Eldrant thanks to you and your replica Asch" Van remarked to himself, "but now I have something even more powerful then Lorelei"he said as he walked over to his new partner. "Well It seems you are going to help me after all."
"Hey isn't this where Asch's body was at?" cried Natalia as the remaining group struggled to look for their friend and escape in time.
"Yes, but it seems he is not here anymore... what could that mean?" asked Jade in a unusually concerned tone.
"Well, I thought the Colonel didn't get worried" Anise teased the Necromancer
"Oh my yes I am concerned when a corpse disappears." he remarked to counter her teasing.
"Come on lets get out of here while we can!" yelled Guy "I'm sure that he'll turn up eventually." as the group moved for the exit, Guy turned to Tear who was trailing behind " and I'm sure Luke will show up too"
"...R-Right" she stammered as if surprised that Guy could tell what was bothering her. "Luke... please be okay"
It had been about 9 months since the Eldrant episode, and the nations of the world had begun to rebuild. Everyone was too busy to even think of war or the score. In Baticul, after months of fruitless searching, Duke Fabre called off the search parties looking for Luke and Asch. This action had upset two individuals the most, and they were the Duchess (Luke and Asch's mother) and Tear.
"But, why?! You still haven't answered my question!?" Tear cried to the Duke
"I told you, with all the rebuilding, I simply can not afford to fund a search party anymore." the Duke replied in a slightly annoyed tone "And I don't want you searching too."
"You are avoiding my question! Why can't I search for him myself?!"
"Because Susanna would worry about you and him then!" said the Duke with a snap from his calm tone.
"...Well you can tell her not to worry" Tear said as she left "because I'll find him myself"
As Tear left the manor in the upset mood she was in she felt a sense of foreboding that made her stop in her tracks. The feeling made her worry worse about Luke.
As Tear made her way down to the elevator she was stopped from a voice behind her.
"Hey, Tear! Can you wait a moment, please!" As she turned she saw the one calling her. It was Natalia, she was running to Tear in the battle suit she wore when leaving the castle. "Hey where are you going, I was just leaving to go somewhere."
Tear smiled slightly as she chuckled at the question " That's a good question... I don't exactly know."
"Oh? well how about you accompany me? I was on my way to Grand Chokmah to meet with Jade."
"why?"
"Well for one thing I was going to request a peace Treaty to demilitarize our border."
"And the other?"
"To see Jade... and Guy I suppose"
"...Okay there is something I wanted to tell everyone anyway"
"Oh? Whats that?"
"Sorry, its a secret until I can get you all together... so I'll find Anise later to do the same."
"...Very well, but lets hurry the ferry will be leaving soon."
As both of them made their way to the Malkuth capital, they noticed something in the distance. A light, of sorts, glowing in the distance. It may just be the sky they thought, but Tear could feel a dense concentration of seventh fonons there... a suspiciously dense amount.
"Tear, Natalia its great to see you" cried Anise as she greeted to two in a strong group hug
"Hello Anise..." Natalia managed through a choked gasp "its nice to... see you again"
"Oh my, doesn't that look like fun Guy?" the colonel remarked to the still skittish Guy.
"Not...really."
"Well that should be enough warm fuzzies, now down to the matter at hand" the colonel said finally.
"Boy, you never change" Guy commented.
"And neither do you apparently." he said straightening his glasses.
"There have been reports of a high level of fonons gathering in Tataroo Valley, but not just any fonons, 7th fonons." Jade said presenting the reason he had requested that they listen to his newest report. Tear gasped as she remembered the lights from before. "Now I don't know if any of find this interesting, but I do and that is why I requested Anise and Guy's help. And, if you are willing-" Jade was cut off.
"Of course, I want to help!" said Tear. She was thinking that maybe the lights could lead her to Luke.
" I will to just let me finish my matters here quickly" replied Natalia
As the group made their way over to the Valley, they could all feel the crushing density of the fonons. Then al of a sudden they felt a attack arte being cast. Afterward a wave of 1st and 6th fonons appeared, a fight had erupted.
As the group made their way too Tataroo Valley they all saw a bright flash of light then a red haired figure shot across their view into the cliff side.
"Luke?!" cried Tear as she walked towards him. As she got closer she saw a outfit of the Oracle Knights. "No... Asch??!"
"Asch?!" cried Natalia as she made her way over to him. "Asch, are you okay?!"
Asch stumbled up to see them all. Panicking he shouted "No, you all have to leave now!!!"
"What, but-" Tear was cut off
"You won't be able to fight him! Leave NOW!!!"
"Who, and w-!" she was cut off again but this time by herself as she looked where Asch had come from.
"Hehe... It seems you were not a good enough test subject for my new powers!" Van said with a sickening tone of arrogance. "No one can defeat my new puppet."
"Dammit, release him now!!!" Asch cried again.
"I think not... ah Mystearica... I am glad you are here." Van said as a simile of devious roots appeared on his face. "Now I can test my control"
Before she could question he sent some sort of glowing figure forth it struck with what seemed like a pure stream of 7th fonons. As Tears eyes adjusted to the figure she could make out the figures face... and nearly fainted from shock.
"My God...Luke?!?"
