Well since we have a fallout 3 and 1 thread. i thought id put up one for NV. what yall think about it?

I'm enjoying it pretty well  No reason to dislike it, for me, but it's not way better than Fallout 3 or anything, imo. |

well thank you for posting this thread you incredibly genius of a man. i personally have my doubts about NV. While it is a good game... A pretty great game. in my opinion compared to the rest of the fallout series it doesn't pull its weight. oh and before you read further SPOILER ALERT
First off, there is a slight redundancy to setting a game in a post apocalyptic setting when you place it in a area that was missed by the destruction. After we delve past that we see that the two forces that were main villains of all the five games before this... sure its cool to see that what you did in fallout 1, 2, and 3 had an effect on the west, but they've managed to reappear for five games now, and the enclave after two presidential assassinations. i don't see how they cant do it again just to keep the mojo flowing.
OK since i don't want to make a huge list of all the things i don't like about it ill just stop at two.
one of the better points of new Vegas is all the references. Its hard to go ten minutes without some one saying something about the master's army or some lone wanderer.
my favorite point so far is meeting the son of our guardian angel for the entire series. i wont name him for anyone who was so dense that they didn't pick up the hints.

not particularly the lone wanderer of fallout 3 [thats been what they call of all the main chars of fallout]. they might reference him once in hidden valley if i remember. but who i was mainly talking about the lone wanderer from 1 and 2. such as marcus [leader of jacobstown] was a companion in fallout 2 and if you talk to him fully he tells you this.

No the elder of the village is the daughter of the character from fallout 1
