This is a product of me sitting at my computer at 10 am, having had no sleep. I'm thinking on writing the full story, so tell me if you want more
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I gazed upon her face, I couldn't believe that just a few days ago, we had only been friends. Her long, brown hair seemed to constantly flow, even when the air was still. Her blue eyes seemed to pierce the soul, but loved everything they saw. Her soft lips were curved in a smile as she stared back at me. My heart had been hammering in my chest since the day I laid eyes on her, and it hadn't stopped, not for a second. When I saw her, it would fill with warmth and hope that someday I'd be able to tell her how I felt, but whenever she was away, my heart became a painful place, filled with sadness and longing to just see her once more. I remembered trying to tell myself that the next time I saw her would be the last, but it was never enough. The second my eyes left her form, the pain began to creep up again, a little stronger each time. Even though I had had to pass through the trial of fire that was her father, I knew that I would've gone through 100x worse if it meant I could finally tell her. This was the moment I had been waiting for. The moment where everything changed. I had thought about how I would tell her, reviewing every plan in my head over and over again, making sure each detail was right, every possibility accounted for. But now that the moment had arrived, my throat ran dry and my tongue failed me. I tried to speak, but it felt like my mouth was full of cotton. My heart continued to pound away, threatening to break my rib cage. She was just standing there, her face filled with slight confusion, some anticipation, and...another expression I couldn't quite place. I looked deep into her eyes and there I found my voice. I took a deep breath and just let the words flow out. The instant the last syllable cut off, my entire body sprouted into a cold sweat. Time seemed to slow down. 'Why is it taking so long for her to answer?' was one of the many thoughts slamming around in my mind. Amongst the millions upon millions of thoughts, I started to imagine every possible outcome. Her storming out and demanding that her father kill me. Her laughing in my face. Her being disgusted and slapping me, saying she never wanted to see me again. Her gently, but still painfully, letting me down. The only possibility I didn't see was the one that escaped her lips. "I love you, too." Had I heard right? I couldn't have heard that. It must have just been my mind forcing her words into something good. "I love you." She repeated. I definitely heard it that time. My heart practically burst out of my chest as I walked forward and wrapped my arms around her, pulling her in close. She let out a slight gasp of surprise, but wound her arms around my waist and pulled me close. We just stood there, holding each other, feeling each others warmth, our thoughts finally at peace. We both knew there was no turning back now. We didn't bother with words. We both just wanted to be close to each other. After what seemed like an eternity, I whispered again, "I love you." We continued to stand there, holding each other tightly, not daring to let go for fear that this would be a dream and We would lose the other. We both just stood there.
